The recent death of the newly confirmed Vice President’s wife has just been declared a homicide, all evidence pointing to her secret lover, Major Mike Toomey. The good news is the President is up for re-election in six months and desirous of avoiding the unwarranted distractions an incendiary court-martial might generate so a sweetheart plea deal is in the works. The bad news is Toomey is insistent upon proving his innocence. The beltway brotherhood, the Capital’s apex predators who are used to getting their own way, have decided that Toomey must take one for the team. They, however, have never dealt with JAG lawyer, Jack Finnie, a former black ops specialist and now one of the Corps’ top legal dogs, who plies his trade in a world in which political expediency takes a backseat to things like honor and the truth.Hit with a tsunami of disintegrating evidence, disappearing witnesses and improper command influence, Finnie dives in with a lethal combination of unorthodox trial tactics and dogged determination.
